Project Brief

Here’s the situation, DIA Brands had a great illustrator that illustrated amazingly cute static stickers for WhatsApp and Telegram.

However, the client at hand decided that they wanted 15 of the stickers animated for Telegram and WhatsApp. The illustrator with little knowledge on animation, decided to call for help... and there was I!

Here’s the process

Firstly, the two platforms–WhatsApp and Telegram, have different sticker uploading processes. WhatsApp allows for an mp4 to be uploaded, but Telegram required a specific .tgs extension which required only vectorised shapes to be animated on.

This was rather simple. Until the two platforms have different time limits which needed to be compromised. As a result the storyboard changed slightly and the work was done seamlessly.


All was fine until the we realised that Telegram stickers, once animated, have to all be animated. Thus, with my quick thinking, I set all the stickers into a 3-second animation and exported as a .tgs file! And that was how Jenson saved the day (again).
